Resolvi dividir com vocês uma letra de música que está como toque do meu celular, para memorizar alguns trechos interessantes.

É a música da Adele - "Rolling in the deep", legal de ouvir pois ela é britânica e canta com inglês fácil de entender. Procurem treinar essa música e perceberão que não esquecerão de certas palavras ou expressões.

Jun: Hi Ken! You’ll never believe who I met yesterday!

(Olá Ken! Você não vai acreditar quem eu encontrei ontem!)

Ken: Hmm, someone famous?

(Hmm, alguém famoso?.)

Jun: Not exactly… I met my cousin who lives in Italy.

(Não exatamente…Eu encontrei meu primo que mora na Itália.)

Ken: You only met your cousin yesterday?! I only have one cousin and we have been best friends for as long as I can remember.

(Você só encontrou seu primo ontem?! Eu só tenho um primo e somos melhores amigos desde que eu me lembro.)

Jun: Well, I have a very big family. My cousins live all over the world!

Boa noite e bom dia pessoal,

São quase 2h da manhã e eu aqui visitando vários blogs e lendo muita coisa....

Volto com muita vontade... necessito me desabafar, não sei se este blog servirá como acompanhamento de aprendizagem, neste momento, mas como um desabafo....

Muita coisa acontecendo.... como umas das minhas frases do início do ano "2010 - Ano que promete muita coisa", para ser sincera tenho até medo do que possa acontecer. Parece que meu coração diz que vem coisas boas, mas ruins também. Prefiro pensar nas boas por enquanto, mas a vontade de chorar é grande, não sei o porquê, mas tenho uma angústia muito grande me apertando no peito.

Que Deus abençoe minha família, estamos precisando.

Olá a todos....

Bom pessoal, começarei a colocar algumas palavras mais ditas nos EUA para começarmos a aprender e a nos aprimorar melhor nessa língua tão falada.

Vamos tentar!!!

Hang tough: se você quer aprender inglês por conta própria então você tem que ser hang tough. Essa expressão é utilizada para descrever aquela pessoa determinada, persistente e muitas vezes “cabeça dura” pois não muda de idéia fácil.
Ex: People losing money on an investment tend to cut their losses rather than hang tough. (Pessoas perdendo dinheiro em um investimento tendem a desistir ao invés de persistir.)

Get old: determinadas coisas são bem legais no início mas se tornam chatas rapidamente. Veja só o exemplo da dança do creu, alguém ainda ouve esta música? Em inglês quando uma coisa se torna chata (get boring) podemos dizer que ela get old.
Ex: We started off camping every night, but that got real old, real fast.

Raise a stink: você conhece alguma pessoa barraqueira? Que ao mínimo problema já altera a voz e sai fazendo aquele escândalo? Senão, sorte sua! Em inglês reclamar e voz alta ou fazer escândalo é Raise a stink.
Ex: Did she raise a stink? No, she did not. (Ela fez um escândalo? Não, ela não fez.)
